The second plenary sessions will focus on topics addressing Southeast Europe and the EU in relation to future global challenges. Our panellists will present their forecasts through three interconnected perspectives – those of Europe, the EU, and Croatia, as the next EU member state. What are the biggest issues that Europe has to deal with in order to provide a safe future for its citizens? How is the EU dealing with the problems of demographic aging, shrinking population, economic crisis and poverty? Is the EU membership still promising peace, stability, prosperity, freedom and solidarity or has the EU lost its attractiveness? What can the WB learn from Croatia’s EU path in addressing these contemporary challenges? Does the future of the EU look more promising from inside or outside?
