Milan Nic is a Senior Fellow at the Central European Policy Initiative, a think tank by the Slovak Atlantic Commission. He worked as the Deputy Chief of Cabinet and Senior Adviser to the State Secretary at the Slovak Foreign Ministry (2010-2012), communication advisor for the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2007-2009), and analyst for the Berlin-based European Stability Initiatives think tank (2009 – 2010). Previously, he was the program director at the Bratislava-based Pontis Foundation (2002-2006), and foreign news editor at the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (1995-2002). He holds M. A.’s from the Charles University in Prague, the CEU in Budapest, and a One-Year Diploma in International Relations from the SAIS Johns Hopkins University. A recipient of the 2004 Karol Rybárik Award for the best young professional in Slovak foreign policy, he recently co-authored a book of essays on the EU and Slovak foreign policy (Bruselenie valašiek, Kalligram Bratislava 2010).
